UMO Men’s and Women’s Tennis Advance

It was an exciting first day at the 2023 Conference Carolinas Tennis Championships on Friday, April 23 at the Dr. Eddie Floyd Florence Tennis Center for University of Mount Olive Trojan men’s and women’s tennis.

In the opening round of the Conference Carolinas men’s tennis championship, sixth-ranked Mount Olive defeated seventh-ranked Converse 4-3 to advance to the quarterfinals against third-ranked Barton. rival and third-seeded Barton, 4-1, in the quarterfinals of the Conference Carolinas Men’s Tennis Championship to advance to the semifinals.

Both higher seeds advanced to the quarterfinals of the 2023 Conference Carolinas Women’s Tennis Championship, with fourth-seeded Belmont Abbey defeating fifth-seeded Barton 4-1, while third-seeded Mount Olive defeated seventh-seeded Francis Marion 4-1.

Due to the threat of inclement weather on Saturday, April 22 in the Florence area, match times were adjusted as the semifinals of the women’s tennis championships began at 8 a.m. Top-seeded Erskine will face fourth-seeded Belmont Abbey and second-seeded Lees-McRae will face third place Mount Olive.
