The Reds secured five successive wins with a 1-0 victory at Anfield, with Mohamed Salah scoring from the penalty spot in the first half to put himself on the goalscoring record for an eighth consecutive match in all competitions.
He has moved Liverpool to within four points of Manchester United in fourth place, but Erik ten Hag’s side have two games in hand and it is likely that the Reds have left themselves with a lot to do in their bid for the Champions League next season.
However, they are in their best form this season and have kept their first clean sheet in over a month, having conceded seven goals in their previous four victories.
“Alison was on the verge of tears with a clean sheet,” said Klopp.

“It’s very rare for us this season. It’s very nice, especially for him.”
Fulham had moments to equalize in the second half, with Carlo Vinicius brilliantly denied late on by Alisson, but Klopp was impressed overall by the performance his players put in against Marco Silva’s side.
“A very strong opponent, I no longer respect what Marco is doing there,” Klopp said.
“I saw great fighting, really good spirit and the boys who came in were flying into challenges. Of course we can control the game better in these moments but we can improve. We played much worse in the past.”
Klopp was reluctant to discuss Liverpool’s hopes for the top four after recent victories, stating there was no point in discussing something outside their control. After this victory, captain Jordan Henderson admitted it was unlikely Man United or Newcastle would be arrested.
However, Klopp still believes that a strong form late in the season could be important for his side.
“That’s what I said, we have to try to do something we can use,” said the Liverpool boss.
“Something we can build on next season. That’s exactly what we did and I’m happy with that.”
