PITTSBURGH — A former Pitt and current NFL star visited Pittsburgh on Saturday to help athletes manage their mental well-being.
More athletes are taking the lead in talking about mental health and their personal challenges. NFL champion Aaron Donald is one of those athletes and he came to Pittsburgh to hold his 4th annual Mental Flex Forum.
Through his foundation, AD99 Solutions, teenage athletes from all over heard from Donald and other guest speakers about maintaining mental wellness, and how to build coping skills. Young athletes are also taught about the various resources they have at their fingertips.
Donald says he’s honored to be able to share his truth and let younger athletes know that sometimes, it’s okay to not be okay. He says these conversations are bigger than football.
