The postseason is here for the Raider golfers, while Baseball wraps up the regular season on the road this weekend before returning home to host the Horizon League Championship next week. Check next week!

Baseball

The Wright State baseball team went 5-0 last week with wins over Dayton and UCF and a series sweep of Milwaukee. Andrew Patrick hit two long balls against Milwaukee to become the program’s single-season school record holder for home runs with 17. The Raiders improved to 21-6 in conference play and captured their fifth straight Horizon League regular season title. Wright State will host the 2023 Horizon League baseball championships at Nischwitz Stadium on March 24-27. in May, and the league’s six schools are represented in the double-elimination series.

The Raiders finish the regular season with a three-game series at Youngstown State on the 18th-20th. May. Live stats are available for all three matches.

Golf

Wright State golfers Tyler Goecke and Mikkel Mathiesen both will play as individuals in the 2023 NCAA Regional in Bath, Mich., and both are within five shots of the individual leader after Monday’s opening round. Mathiesen and Goecke combined for 10 birdies on the card to erase a total of five bogeys, and Mathiesen completes his first round. four-under 67 in a tie for fifth, just two shots back of Georgia’s personal leader Ben Van Wyk. Goecke shot a one-under 70 and is five shots off the lead in a tie for 30th.

The pair will play 18 holes on Tuesday in the second round before the final round on Wednesday.
