Two people were found murdered at a summer house on Payston Hill near Shrewsbury, 84-year-old Robert Lloyd and his wife, Patricia, who was 80.

They were discovered at their home on Newbrook Drive around 11pm on Thursday, June 1.

Their daughter Sarah Davis paid tribute to her parents:

“My mom and dad were a loving and devoted couple married for over 50 years, and he was one of the most amazing dads I could ask for. They will be greatly missed by their family and many close friends.

“Both were terminally ill, dad with cancer and mom with a brain tumor and dementia, and they couldn’t bear the thought of not having one to support the other.

“They are now at peace, and we will cherish our memories of them over the years, remembering them fondly together, at home in their beloved summer home, looking out over their beautiful garden.”

The family also asked that they and their neighbors be left in peace and that their privacy be respected at this very sad and difficult time.

An inquiry will open on Thursday 15 June.

The deaths had previously been treated as unexplained, but West Mercia Police believe no one else was involved.
