Zendaya plays tennis champion in Challengers trailer

On Tuesday, Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer Pictures served up an intense trailer for Challengers , the upcoming sports drama starring Zendaya as a tennis prodigy turned coach.

Written by Justin Kuritzkes and directed by Call Me By Your Name filmmaker Luca Guadagnino, the film also stars West Side Story’s Mike Faist and The Crown’s Josh OConnor in a Zendayas duel for screen lovers.

In the preview, the Emmy-winning Euphoria star reprises her role as Tashi Duncan, a young tennis champion who seems to have it all: money, fame, awards, a flashy brand deal with Adidas, and a perfect game. At the peak of his early career, he captures the hearts of fellow tennis players Art (Faist) and Patrick (OConnor), who are enraged by his impeccable technique.

After suffering a career-ending injury on the court, grown-up Tashi begins coaching her husband Art as he prepares for a high-stakes match against her ex-boyfriend Patrick.

Set to a dramatic remix of Rihannas S&M, the trailer features explosive footage of Zendaya cutting, crushing, serving both on and off the court, and seducing a rival.
