LSU golfer Ingrid Lindblad named CSC Academic First Team All-American – LSU

BATON ROUGE LSU senior women’s golfer Ingrid Lindblad added another honor to her already distinguished resume when she was named to the 2022-23 Academic All-America Womens At-Large First Team Thursday by College Sports Communications (CSC).

In addition to golf, the At-Large category includes women’s sports such as lacrosse, fencing, beach volleyball, rowing, skiing, gymnastics, field hockey, hockey and rifle.

Lindblad, a four-time consensus first-team All-America for his efforts on the course, where he has 11 collegiate victories and is the No. 1 player in the World Amateur Golf Rankings, graduated last May from LSU.

The native of Sweden posted a 3.94 GPA in athletic administration.

Lindblad averaged 70.65 last season and has the top four batting averages in LSU history, all under 71.00 strokes per round. He won two victories in the past season. She finished fifth at the NCAA Championships in May and is coming off a semifinal appearance at the prestigious Women’s Amateur Championships in England last week.

She is the second player in LSU women’s golf history to earn CSC Academic All-America At-Large first team honors, joining Devon Day, who earned the honor in 2003.

College Sports Communicators (CSC) began the prestigious Academic All-America program in 1952 and since then has honored more than 38,000 deserving student-athletes from multiple sports in all divisions with these top-tier Academic All-America scholar-athletes.
