‘QAnon Shaman’ Jacob Chansley on Donald Trump, Elon Musk

“QAnon Shaman” Jacob Chansley is completely over his bromance with Twitter CEO Elon Musk, and is also not a “fanboy” of former President Donald Trump, he told The Post in an exclusive interview.

“I’m supporting Trump because he’s addressed a lot of things that concern me like human trafficking and slavery, China and ending the endless wars in the Middle East,” Chansley, 35, said from his home in Phoenix.

“But I’m not a Trump fanboy. He has said things and things that I don’t support. He made many appointments in his first term that I do not agree with,” he continued.

The self-proclaimed shaman — famously wearing a horned helmet and fur hat when he entered the Capitol on January 6, 2021 — pleaded guilty to obstructing a government proceeding and walked out of prison in March after his 41-month term was shortened for good behavior.

His case recently hit the headlines again after stunning new footage emerged from the riot that showed a police officer happily walking with Chansley, a tattooed Navy vet, through the Capitol.

Backers pointed to the clip as evidence that his role in the riots was exaggerated — and even drew a supportive tweet from Musk, who tweeted “Free Jacob Chansley” on March 10 after the footage aired.

He appreciated Musk’s support at the time, but says he is now “disappointed” with the tech titan.

[Musk] was one of my strongest advocates and offered to pay my legal fees. But he never reached out to me or my lawyer, upon my release. If he talks the talk, why not walk the walk? Chansley said.

Chansley is also unsure of Musk’s motives.

“I wonder why he does certain things, or why he doesn’t do more in other areas that are important to the survival of humanity.”

Now working as an executive assistant for a filmmaker while running a shamanic consultancy, Chansley admits that some January 6 rioters deserve criminal charges.

“Some people hurt the police,” he said. “There are people who are destroying the Capitol. I don’t care what side of the aisle you’re on, if you hit a police officer you should be charged.”

And he said he regretted not doing more to quell the swirling chaos at the time.

Arguing that the new footage aired on Tucker Carlson in March should have played a decisive role in his case, Chansley filed a motion to throw out his conviction.

“My desire to vacate my sentence is due to ineffective assistance of counsel – and video evidence that has come out since my conviction,” he said. “As far as I can tell the government did not follow the correct legal procedure.”

But Judge Royce Lamberth this week sided with prosecutors, calling his argument “frivolous.”

“Chansley’s actions in the first violent breach of the Capitol provide more than sufficient evidence of his corrupt intent to interfere with Congress that day,” they wrote in response to his initial motion.

Chansley, who is single and hoping to start a family, still supports the “Q” movement, a loosely affiliated group that believes anonymous government entities are trying to deliver forbidden truths through cryptic messages known as “drops.”

“I believe the Q drops were written by people with high level security clearance who want to free humanity from the nefarious forces that are attempting to monopolize all the world’s resources and labor by controlling banks, corporations and governments,” he said.

Chansley — who says he’s a libertarian centrist — took umbrage at his portrayal in the press as a cartoonish conspiracy theorist.

“Every time the Democrats lose an election they cry about fraud,” he said. “Every time the Republicans lose they do the same thing. I’m a centrist. The centrist view is that elections in America are corrupt and have been for decades.”

However, he is not averse to using his unlikely rise to fame – including the fur hat and horn helmet.

“My face became associated with many people with a desire for freedom,” he said. “I’d be a fool for that message not to get out one way or another.”
