Edge Innovation awards VxRail its third CRN Tech Award

[ad_1]

For the third consecutive year, Dells VxRail product line has been recognized with the prestigious CRN Tech Innovators Award. This is a testament to the extraordinary innovation and industry-leading technology embodied in the VxRail offerings and, this year, the innovative VxRail VD-4000.

The annual CRN Tech Innovators Awards, determined by a panel of CRN editors, highlight and celebrate innovative vendors in the IT channel in 38 technology categories. These categories range from cloud to storage, from networking to the security-critical areas that drive the digital transformation of companies.

In 2021, VxRail earned its first CRN Tech Innovators award, in recognition for providing the simplest path to hybrid cloud and enabling infrastructure and operational modernization, including the introduction of integrated options to run vSphere Tanzu. The innovation (and win) continued into 2022 with the addition of satellite VxRail and dynamic nodes, extending the power of VxRail to edge deployments and effectively addressing asymmetric workload scaling.

Announced in January, the VxRail VD-4000 brought us back to the podium. This latest addition to the VxRail portfolio extends the robustness and utility of the VxRail family into previously inaccessible areas, expanding the scope of efficient and reliable hyperconverged solutions for enterprises. Its unique features, such as integrated vSAN baton, compact design, and broad operational metrics, enable organizations to maintain a consistent operating model across the entire IT landscape in the central data center, hybrid cloud, and at the edge. Becoming the first HCI solution to deliver a self-contained two-node vSAN cluster, the VD-4000 overcomes latency and bandwidth constraints, ensuring enterprises the ability to standardize operations, reduce complexity, and drive efficiency, regardless of deployment environment.

The VD-4000 is not just robustness and efficiency. With its compact form factor, it is easily deployed in space-constrained environments, whether racked, stacked, or wall-mounted. Works perfectly between 27F and 131F, with added resilience against shock and vibration. This is innovation designed to deliver results in even the most unpredictable edge environments.

Some common use cases for the VD-4000 include:

Retail and service industry edge distribution. Perfect for retail chains or multi-branch businesses, handling local data processing needs with its compact form factor and low bandwidth requirements. Remote operations in harsh environments. Ideal for deployments in harsh conditions such as mining sites, oil rigs or military operations due to its rugged and durable design. Telecommunications and network infrastructures. Ideal for telecommunications companies or large-scale network operations, it offers reliable processing in small and dispersed network locations.

This award is testament to the value that VxRail offers its users, resulting from its unique combination of efficiency, resilience and simplicity. And it reinforces Dell and VMware’s ongoing commitment to deliver world-class innovative solutions that help businesses thrive in the digital age.

The VxRail VD-4000 revolutionizes the way customers manage deployments from the data center to the edge by bridging the gap between efficiency and reach. Automating deployment, orchestration, and lifecycle management using VxRail HCI system software ensures a consistent operating model across deployments. Therefore, the VD-4000 doesn’t just take customers to new locations; it brings with it the efficiency and reliability of the data center. Here is a short video highlighting some of the use cases.

As part of our commitment to sustainability, we have designed the VxRail VD-4000 with key features that contribute to energy efficiency and sustainable operations. The integrated vSAN witness option eliminates the need for a separate infrastructure or cloud-based witness, enabling the creation of a two-node vSAN cluster that consumes 38% less power than a standard three-node cluster. This reduction in energy consumption not only contributes to cost savings, but also helps companies reduce their carbon footprint in pursuit of their sustainability goals. Plus, its compact, lightweight design, weighing just 20 to 28.4 pounds, means less material usage and reduced carbon emissions during transportation.

In an age of rapid digital evolution, the VxRail portfolio continues to lead the way with cutting-edge technology that fosters efficiency and simplicity. The VD-4000 is a prime example of Dell’s commitment to seamless technology integration that contributes to customer success, and we’re proud to receive the CRN Tech Innovators Award for three consecutive years.
