PHOENIX (CNN) – Former President Donald Trump is trying to make a comeback.
He plans a slate of summer rallies in the battlefield states.
This is after CNN learned the Republican leader allowed the Arizona ballot audit to speak to Trump and his attorney Rudy Giuliani several times about their push to overturn the 2020 election results.
Donald Trump is making his effort to weaken U.S. elections down the road.
“That election will fall as the crime of the century,” Trump said.
The former president who is making a campaign-style appearance this weekend in North Carolina to fuss over his election loss, will continue baseless fraud claims and praise GOP-led efforts to restrict voting.
“I love what they’ve done in Texas,” he said. “I love what they do in Florida and did in Florida. I want to see Georgia be more rigorous.”
It appears as much detail about the former Trump administration’s efforts to overturn the 2020 election results.
The e-mails obtained by CNN, discovered in a Senate judiciary investigation, were shown to former White House Chief of Staff Mark Meadows e-mailing former Trump attorney Jeff Rosen who repeatedly asked him to look into election fraud claims in Georgia and New Mexico.
Meadows’ requests include that Rosen looked at “Italygate,” a conspiracy theory that people in Italy use military technology and satellites to transfer Trump’s votes to Biden’s votes in U.S. polls. . There is no evidence there.
“This is a fire five alarm for our democracy,” Sen. said. Dick Durbin, the Democrat chairman of the judiciary committee at CNN.
In the meantime, Trump is still advocating for parties wrapped in hunting scrutiny for fraud.
“I want to congratulate, by the way, Republican state senators in Arizona and other places for their great work they are doing in exposing this fraud,” he said.
One of those Republicans, Arizona Senate President Karen Fann, led the Maricopas shadowy ballot audit.
“I don’t know what’s legit, what’s not legit,” Fann said.
He has repeatedly told constituents Trump and Rudy Giuliani to encourage his efforts.
“I’ve had a lot of conversations with Rudy Giuliani over the last few weeks trying to do this,” he said. “I have full support for him and a personal call from President Trump, thanking us for pushing to prove any fraud”
Fann said in an e-mail in December to a constituency, released by watchdog group American Oversight.
All of this as Republicans who have stood up to Trump’s attempts to overthrow the election, like Georgia Governor Brian Kemp and Secretary of State Brad Raffensperger, have been beaten by their own party.
Kemp was booed at the Georgia GOP convention.
As the Atlanta Law Journal reported that Raffensperger was convicted of “resigning from his constitutional duty.”
