Donald A. Blais, 67, of Robin Lane, West Warwick, peacefully passed home surrounded by his loving family on Sunday, June 6, 2021.
He has been the loving wife of Marilyn “Lyn” (DiMasi) Blais for 44 years. Born in Providence, he was a son of the late Paul J. and Yola M. (Perreault) Blais.
He is the father of Captain Stephen J. Blais (WWPD) and wife Sara, and Joshua D. Blais, all of Cranston. Donald was the brother of Norman F. Blais of Coventry and the late Robert P. Blais.
Donald graduated from West Warwick High School in 1971. He went on to earn a degree in Culinary Arts from Johnson & Wales. After graduation, he was a chef at Harborside Restaurant for many years. Donald was a Corrections Officer in the RI Department of Correction for more than 32 years before retiring in 2019. Donald loves spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren Samantha and Grace.
He also enjoys golfing and sailing with his family and friends.
His Funeral will be Friday, June 11, 2021, at 8:45 a.m. from Iannotti Funeral Home at Maple Root, 2000 Nooseneck Hill Rd., (Rte.3) Coventry, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 p.m. of the morning at St. Gregory the Great Church, Warwick.
Baking will be private.
Visiting hours are Thursday evenings 4 – 7 pm.
