I chose the Atlanta Hawks to beat Philadelphia 76ers before the start of the second round, but I chose that on the assumption that Joel Embiid would miss several games due to injury. He didn’t, and it was amazing. Now, Atlanta is dealing with a major health problem. De’Andre Hunter is out for post-season with a knee injury.

Hunter isn’t a big name yet, but he’s probably the second hottest player in Atlanta. He was instrumental in slowing down Julius Randle in the first round, and the Hawks had 14.4 points per 100 ownership better in the postseason with him in the lineup. His loss is critical to the Hawks, but the Vegas streaks didn’t reflect that. Philadelphia closed Wednesday night at -20 below zero to win the series. Assuming Embiid remains healthy, this is excellent value for a team that will struggle to replace their best winger in two directions. Now, its your best bets on Thursday.

Featured game | Milwaukee Bucks vs Brooklyn Nets

The Bucks played curling twice in Milwaukee in May. James Harden missed both games. Both of them won the bucks. Yes, they have looked ugly so far in this series. Maybe they’ll lose it eventually. But if this team ever stays in a fight we’ll see now, and for what it’s worth, the last time Brooklyn took a 2-0 lead, they lost Game 3 on the road to Boston. Milwaukee still has an iota of hope with Harden out. If you lose this one dollars? Their season is over. Picking: $ -3.5

Los Angeles Clippers vs. Utah Jazz

Featured game | Utah Jazz vs Los Angeles Clippers

Game 1 of the series included a total of 221 points, but it got there despite Mike Conley’s absence from the game, Paul George fired 4 of 17 from the field and the Jazz lost 21 consecutive shots in the first quarter. Two of these things are unlikely to be repeated, and Conley’s return will only increase crime in the series. Predict a high-score game 2. Choice: more than 222.5
