INDIANAPOLIS – Michael Hixon and Andrew Copobianco earned seats to the Tokyo Olympics in the men’s 3-meter synchronized dive Friday night in U.S. trials. Jessica Parratto and Delaney Schnell won the women’s 10-meter sync to get seats on the team.
Hixon, silver medalist at the 2016 Rio Games, and recent NCAA champion Copobianco conveniently won by 1289.27 points. Greg Duncan and Grayson Campbell finished second at 1168.80.
Hixon and Copobianco topped their list with a forward-looking 4/1 cone that earned 90.6 points for a dive with a difficulty of 3.8.
Beard, the 2016 Olympics, and Schnell were consistent throughout the final round and placed 930.00 points. Katrina Young and Murphy Bromberg, who made it to the Olympic team in 2016, finished second at 888.54.
Krysta Palmer and Alison Gibson made it to the U.S. team by winning the women’s 3-meter sync on Thursday.
