According to a report from DigiTimes, ASRock is swimming in the money and hopes to earn even more soon. The company says it expects its sales to increase even as the price of graphics cards declines and GPU demand for Chinese cryptomining operations declines. The company also expects the AMD GPU offering to improve as the production capacity of substrates increases.
ASRock’s predictions could turn out to be good news for enthusiasts awaiting what is arguably the worst GPU shortage in history. The potential for lower GPU prices on the near horizon is certainly good news, but the reduction in Chinese demand for cryptomining is also encouraging. China’s recent cryptomining bans could prompt miners to sell GPUs in the second-hand market, dramatically improving the overall supply. As a prospect, miners reportedly bought 700,000 GPUs in the first quarter of this year alone.
According to the report, ASRock also expects higher production rates for AMD GPUs in the second half of this year thanks to capacity adjustments and increased supply of substrate materials.
ASRock reported net profit of $ 17.88 million for the first quarter of 2021, up 39.7% sequentially and 167% year-on-year, making the first quarter of 2021 the most profitable year for ASrock. Thanks in large part to the insane demands placed on the tech industry as a whole.
Unfortunately, ASRock motherboard shipments have underperformed due to the shortage of Intel and AMD processors. ASrock does not expect this situation to improve until the fourth quarter of this year.
It’s great to hear that the graphics card market could make a little comeback later this year. But it’s entirely possible that there is only a partial recovery on the near horizon, and we won’t see a full return to normal graphics card pricing and supply until next year. . We have contacted ASRock for more details and will update if necessary.
