Millie: A year and a month ago. George Floyd was killed by Minneapolis lice officer Derek Chauvin. Chauvin reigned for 22 and a half years which resulted in mixed feelings among those in our area >> As a person of color I feel that nothing is really right enough that I will stay that way. >> I think he deserves more than that, no one deserves what George Floyd went through >> It’s still shocking to this day, he showed no reaction and other people are sitting there watching a man die on the floor and it could happen at any time. Especially people of my color and it scares a lot of PEOE.PL I just think he should definitely get more time. Melanie: Community Faith Leader Pastor MARK MEEKS OF CITY CHUR OF SACRAMENTO ALSO WEIGHTS IN. >> There is no number in my estimation that would create a level of satisfaction but at the same time tradition teaches me that there is a call for justice when people are hurt or hurt. Miliani: Pasteur Mix explains how the video saw a scientist around the murder of George Floyd, and interacted with him and countless others. >> He was killed once. Once. That’s all I could see to say it was annoying no juice but it was PUH. Melanie: That’s right. Pastor Maxi is looking to find the positive, like the calls for justice for Floyd that have been seen in Sacramento and in cities that include the country. >> It was led by my community. COMNI.MU African American BUT he was black, white, brown, all ages all tenses. Melanie: Others also hope that Chauvin’s conviction and sentencing will lead to change. >> The win here is that at LEA it was acknowledged that someone had had consequences for these kinds of actions, so hopefully they stop triggering RWARFOD. >> I think the awareness that happened was massive in everything that really led to a positive change and like Owens said. AR >> Consciously, it can, it cannot always be necessary but it can change. I am an optimistic person. Melanie: MELANIE WINGO, KCRA 3 NE. Walter: Putting all this in the context of Chauvin’s own belief, is a rare occurrence. According to the ASSOCTEIA press, only 11 non-federal law enforcement officers have been convicted of murder for the sinful murders.
