MSNBC’s Chris Hayes said Republicans would get behind Mike Pence if Trump proposed it

MSNBC liberal anchor Chris Hayes said Republicans “would get behind the execution of Mike Pence” if former President Donald Trump ordered it.

On Monday, Hayes, host of MSNBCs “All in” invited Echelon Insights founder Kristen Soltis Anderson and Bulwark writer Tim Miller to discuss former Texas GOP chairman Allen Wests’s recent announcement to run for to the governor against Republican Governor Greg Abbott.

The conversation quickly moved to discuss what Hayes described as “Stalin-esque” appeal to former President Donald Trump from Republicans running in the primaries.

“I mean if Donald Trump decides tomorrow to conduct a campaign to make a litmus test for the Republican party hang Pence Mike Pence, most Republican managers will get behind Mike Pence and that is a sad , dark ass to say but this is the reality of GD now. ”Hayes commented. “That’s bad. I really really believe in that.”

While Miller nodded in agreement, Anderson disagreed with Hayes’ insinuation saying, “I think a lot of other complexities are going on there.”

“I think some awful things have already been endorsed,” Hayes replied.

“The problem facing all Republicans is that Donald Trump and the like have numbers similar to Saddam Hussein,” Miller added.

In a poll reported by Politico Morning Consult, 71 percent of Republicans maintain a favorable opinion of former Vice President Pence.

Hayes, who has often targeted former presidents and Republicans with baseless allegations, claimed last year that the “GOP” had exchanged hundreds of thousands of American lives ”when they confirmed Amy Coney Barrett in the Supreme Court.
