Music and cricket combined with The Hundred in Manchester – Everything Everything, The Lathums, The Orielles, Porij confirmed

Cricket combines live music for summer gigs at the series’s new The Hundred event – the first major performances were unveiled today.

All of Manchester will be reinforced in the music collection alongside The Orielles, The Lathums and Porij for new live sporting events to be held at Emirates Old Trafford, home of Manchester Originals.

The Hundred is a new fast-paced 100-ball cricket competition that kicks off on July 21, and organizers say it is the largest sports and music collaboration in UK history, with live music and DJs in each of the 64 games held around the world. Great Britain.

Known for its experimental, border-pushing hits, the festival legends, Everything Everything, will put up a stage at Manchester Originals vs London Spirit on Emirates Old Trafford on August 10th.

Elsewhere, Becky Hill will appear in the women’s opening game on July 21, and Jack Garratt has been unveiled as the opener for The Hundred mens at Kia Oval the next day.

All in all, bassist Jeremy Pritchard said: Chuffed them to be a part of The Hundreds film music and play at Emirates Old Trafford at Manchester’s band home, which has hosted us as bowlers at so many good gigs and sporting events in the past.

Lathums will play in their first home game with Manchester Originals against Birmingham Phoenix in Old Trafford on July 25, and Orielles will play on July 28 when the home team receives Northern Superchargers and Porij on August 5th.

According to the organizers, music is an integral part of the Hundred Match Day experience as the competition throws the circus doors open to a wider audience this summer, welcoming families and inspiring the next generation to show that cricket is a game for them.

Jeremy told MEN that Everything Everything was excited to get back on the show after 18 months of locking. He said: “It will continue for two years because we played a real gig outdoors in the air together at full capacity.

“We’re just really happy to be playing music live and connecting with people in every way possible. We were lucky that the record was ready in March when the closing came.

“We were able to promote it digitally, working from home, as everyone has done. But it’s hard to give oxygen to an album if you can’t really get around it.

“It’s also the fun part, the winning round after breaking the record.”

The 100 Series series will start this summer with a separate women’s match between the Oval Invincibles and the Manchester Originals in London, the first British team sport in history.

“Its a mix of sport and music in a way that has never been done before in the UK. Our music line-up combined with world class cricket on the field is sure to provide an entertaining day for the whole family.

The competition will ensure that men’s and women’s cricket is played on a shared platform, with the same prize money and a host of female cricketers and artists that are the centerpiece, live on Sky and the BBC.

The Hundred participates in the best players from around the world competing in eight new city teams in England and Wales. The Hundred competition sees men’s and women’s competitions in parallel.

Tickets are priced at 5 for under 16s, adult tickets start at 12pm, while under-fives go free.

In addition to the first two games, the tickets allow you to see the games for women and men.

The organizers have confirmed that the refund policy is valid if all matches are affected by Covid.
