UFC President Dana White has left the door open for a possible fourth fight between the two. White told reporters that McGregor is due to have surgery on Sunday, and added that another fight could be in the future given the ill-fitting end of what was supposed to be the third and final fight.
“The battle is not over,” White said, via MMA Junkie. “You can’t end the fight like that. We’ll see how it all plays out. Who knows how long Connor is out, so Pourier will do his thing until Connor is ready.”
Before a fourth fight could happen, White said a lightweight title fight between Poirier and Charles Oliveira would likely be next.
