Miller, who has seen strong fundraising numbers to start his campaign, said he’s not worried about losing his support base because of Trumps’ statement.

I think people who have donated before to my campaign have donated to my campaign without hope of Donald Trumps endorsement, Miller said. I don’t remember a U.S. president endorsing or not endorsing a lieutenant governor candidate.

Miller said he has not had any contact with Trump recently and suspects that Trump has bad information about him and his campaign.

They gave him bad information for their good motives, Miller said. They wrongly said I refused to cause. That category is not true. I continue to investigate and use every means possible to investigate the 2020 election.

Miller wrote a letter Thursday, July 15, to the Fulton County Elections Board, asking them to explain how 200 ballots were scanned twice, which could lead to an extra vote being counted.

Recent news reports, again questioning the integrity of the ballot reporting process in Fulton County, Miller wrote. I expect the Fulton County Board of Elections to take these concerns seriously and provide accurate and timely answers. We hope, and the citizens of Georgia deserve, nothing less.

The letter asks the board to say whether the excess votes were too much added to the Fulton County audit results.

Miller began his campaign in late May of this year with a focus on criminal justice reform and maintaining current conservative policies in the state. Miller also advocated the controversial SB 98 voting law, passed by the Georgia General Assembly during the legislative session in 2021. Voting laws include reducing the number of ball drop boxes, implementing new voter ID requirements for absent voters and a ban on food distribution to people waiting to vote.

Georgia voters care about the issues and the plan for the state’s future more than they care about endorsements, Miller said.
