Window cleaner dress up as a superhero to entertain kids in Canadian hospital

Hospitals can be gloomy places, especially for children. To entertain the young inpatients, a hospital in Canada surprises them with a visit from some of the superheroes fighting dirt.

In a tweet, the official handle of Kingston General Hospital Pediatric Unit shared some photos of their ‘Super Hero’s Day’, where Elite Window Cleaner employees dressed up as superhero characters like The Hulk, Iron Man and others. In the photos, the members of the window washing company can be seen wearing costumes while hanging on the roof of the building.

“Our #healthcare heroes received some support today – #superheroes brought smiles to the faces of our youngest #patients. Staff from
@EliteWindowC came down from the building to not only fight the dirt but also bring much needed fun & distraction for patients, families and staff,” read the post, which is now going viral on social media.

According to CTV News, the patients in the pediatric ward were thrilled to meet their superhero. “I saw the Hulk and Iron Man and (Batman) and Captain Marvel and Spider-Man,” Logan Simpkins told the news site.

David Alarios, father of Elisha Alarios, who was diagnosed with Hemophilia when she was four months old, told CTV News that they often encouraged her to draw strength from superhero movies and books.

“To make it through multiple IVs, we’ve always relied on superheroes,” he said. “We call it ‘Muscle Juice.’ Seeing them, of course, with (other) kids, (kids have) imagination, but for him, it’s even more so, because of what he had to go through and how he had to believe he was a superhero to get through his treatment, David told the news site.
