BSE, NSE remain closed today

Trading in the Commodity segment will remain suspended in the morning session from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM, but will remain open in the evening session from 5:00 PM to 11:55 PM.

This is the only public holiday that falls in the month of July 2021. The next fair holiday falls on August 19, 2021 for Muharram, followed by Ganesh Chaturthi and Dussehra festivals which fall on September 10, 2021 and October 15, 2021 respectively.

BSE and NSE are going to close after a hiatus of more than 2 months as the previous trading day had fallen on May 13, 2021 for the celebration of Id-UL-Fitra (Ramadan Id).

The Indian stock market was closed for a maximum number of days in April this year, when BSE Sensex and NSE Nifty remained closed on April 2 for Good Friday, April 14 for Dr Baba Saheb Ambedkar Jayanti and April 21 for Ram Navami celebrations.

The Indian stock market closed in the red zone for the third consecutive trading session on July 20, 2021, when the BSE Sensex lost 354 points and closed at 52,198 levels, while the NSE Nifty plunged 120 points and closed at 15,632 levels. Of the 50 NSE Nifty shares, 40 have closed in the red zone. After opening a 48-point down gap, Nifty slipped into further weakness in the early middle of the session. The upward recovery from the mid-section did not last and the Nifty fell, eventually closing near the lows.
