Princess Diana’s niece, Lady Kitty Spencer, married billionaire fashion tycoon Michael Lewis in Italy

In a love match to rival the fairy tale setting of a grand Italian villa, Lady Kitty Spencer yesterday married fashion tycoon Michael Lewis in a lavish ceremony in front of their high society friends and family.

As the scorching summer heat begins to subside at 6pm, Princess Diana’s niece says I do it in front of a quiet congregation at Villa Aldobrandini in Frascati, a stunning country house with views over Rome.

The wedding, which was attended by a number of celebrities and royals, was the culmination of a weekend party that started in the Italian capital on Friday night.

The pair were joined by Lady Kittys sisters, twins Eliza and Amelia; Viscountess Emma Weymouth and her husband Ceawlin Thynn, Marquess of Bath; pop star Pixie Lott and model boyfriend Oliver Cheshire; Idris Elbas’ wife Sabrina; and Made In Chelsea star Mark Vandelli.

Also present were Mr Lewis’ three adult children, aged 62 from a previous marriage. Lady Kitty, 30, the eldest child of Diana’s brother Earl Spencer, is known to have developed a strong relationship with her husband’s children who were born in South Africa.

In keeping with the Italian theme, the fashion house Dolce and Gabbana plays a key role. Several guests, including Viscountess Weymouth, socialite and DJ Marjorie Gubelmann and fashion designer Jade Holland Cooper wore the designer’s gown.

Prior to the ceremony, Viscountess Weymouth and Ms Gubelmann posted on Instagram that their outfits were made by the Italian duo, while Ms Holland Cooper showed off the small D&G handbag on the social media site.

It is understood that Lady Kittys wedding dress was also made by the label. Earlier this year she was appointed a global ambassador for the brand and said: When I wear their clothes, I feel their passion and I feel like the best version of myself.

She may also have chosen to wear the Spencer tiara, a diamond headdress in a tulip and star-shaped flower design, which her aunt wore to her wedding at St Paul’s Cathedral on July 28, 1981. It is not known if Earl Spencer attended the wedding, but on the Friday when the rehearsal took place. , he posted a picture on his Instagram account of the garden on his Althorp estate.

After the ceremony, Lady Kitty and Mr Lewis entertained the guests with a feast and dance. Fireworks are also expected.

The wedding was followed by a few exciting days. On Friday evening, the couple dined at the Galleria Del Cardinale restaurant in a Baroque palace in central Rome, where guests dined on traditional dishes including beef-stuffed ravioli, Sardinian fregola pasta and a selection of tiramisu and caprese cakes.

Earlier this week, Lady Kitty threw a hen party for her closest friends in Florence. The following night she posted on Instagram a photo of the group wearing brightly colored wigs.

Later in the evening she posed in the city’s Piazza del Duomo in a striking black and white polka dot dress and alongside 1,700 Dolce and Gabbana handbags.

A few hours before the wedding, Lady Kittys friends were seen enjoying the view of Rome and its restaurant. Wearing large sunglasses, Lott and Viscountess Weymouth strolled by the Spanish Steps, before stopping for lunch with Mr Vandelli and his partner Piotr Krzymowski. They were then taken in a limousine to the wedding venue.

The Mail on Sunday first revealed Lady Kittys’ relationship with Mr Lewis, who owns high street fashion chains Whistles and Phase Eight in August 2018.

They were pictured together at the five-star Mark Hotel in New York nine months later. Lewis proposed in December 2019. Lady Kitty, who like her mother Victoria Lockwood is a fashion model, is thought to have met her philanthropist husband who has donated millions of dollars to Oxford University through a mutual friend, former Defense Secretary Liam Fox.
