Small Business Owners in Florence Win $5.75 Million in Colorado Lottery Lucky for Life Draw

FLORENCE, Colorado (KKTV) – An entrepreneur in Florence is lucky for life!

Richard and his wife own the Green Parrot Lounge in Florence. According to the Colorado Lottery, the couple plays Lotto+ and Lucky for Life every draw. It all went well on Friday.

They came to work on Saturday and their manager had asked them if they had won because our investigators told them they had sold the winning ticket, according to a Colorado Lottery report. They looked at each other as they thought about how many Lucky for Life tickets they had sold and immediately checked their number.

Richard and his wife no longer need to enter the lottery, they are the very first major prize winners for Lucky for Life, with a prize worth approximately $5.75 million!

This is very exciting for the Colorado Lottery as there has been no grand prize winner since it began offering Lucky for Life in 2016, the press release reads. To play Lucky for Life, players select 5 of 48 numbers and 1 of 18 numbers for Lucky Ball, using the playslip or quick pick option. Lucky for Life tickets can be purchased for up to 13 weeks, which is 91 drawings that can be played prior to a draw with Advance Play.

Prior to Friday’s draw, Colorado Lottery had never had a $1,000-a-day winner for life. They have 19 second place $25,000 per year for life winners.
