Oct. 13 (Reuters) – Southwest Airlines (LUV.N) said Wednesday it had resumed normal operations after massive cancellations since Saturday due to unfavorable weather and air traffic problems in Florida.
However, according to user reports from the web monitoring group Downdetector, many users had problems with Southwest Airlines’ website on Wednesday. At 12:42 PM ET, 23 problem reports had been submitted.
The company said in response it was not aware of any outages in Southwest.
The U.S. airline has canceled more than 2,200 flights since Saturday, with about 90 cancellations on Tuesday of nearly 3,300 scheduled flights. read more
Southwest Chief Operating Officer Mike Van de Ven said in a message to employees late Sunday that the sudden flight cancellations had caused staff shortages and could potentially reduce the number of flights the company can operate in November and December. read more
