About this center
The Minnesota MBDA Business Center is part of a nationwide network of thirty-nine centers. The center is operated by MEDA, a leading organization dedicated to developing Minority Business Enterprises (MBEs) for more than 40 years. The MBDA is the only federal agency created specifically to promote the growth of minority businesses in America.
Project Director: George Jacobson
Our mission
The center’s mission is to strengthen the U.S. economy by helping ethnic minority businesses create or retain jobs and build economically vibrant, socially responsible entrepreneurs, businesses and communities. The center’s focus is well aligned and consistent with MEDA’s mission to “help entrepreneurs of color succeed”.
Our strategy
The MBC strives for strategic business alliances between MBEs, majority companies and local, state and federal government agencies. Services offered to MBC customers include:
|
To develop a work plan according to the possibilities and needs of the MBE |
Provide tailor-made business advice to help MBEs grow and prosper |
|
Identify purchasing options based on customer competencies |
Promote MBC clients for both the public and private sectors |
|
Estate agent financial transactions between customers and funding sources |
Help out qualified MBEs with acquisitions or venture capital deals |
Identify referral resources for MBEs who are not qualified for MBC assistance
Qualifications
While MEDA serves all MBEs, the Minnesota MBDA Business Center focuses specifically on three unique market areas: companies with annual sales of $1,000,000 or more, companies with high individual growth potential, or promising companies in high-growth industries. If you think you meet these qualifications, please complete the customer service form.
