Newfoundland and Labrador reported seven new cases of COVID-19 on Wednesday.
Four of the cases are in the Central Health region: two people under the age of 20, one person in their 50s, and one person 70 years or older.
The other three new cases are in the Eastern Health region: a person in their 50s, a person in their 60s, and a person 70 or older.
The new cases, minus two new recoveries, increase the county’s active caseload to 41, with 24 in Eastern Health, 15 in Central Health and two in Western Health. There are no known active cases in the Labrador-Grenfell Health region.
The Ministry of Health said it was unable to provide an updated total of completed COVID-19 tests due to an IT outage caused by the recent cyberattack on the province’s healthcare system. Testing and COVID-19 vaccinations are still available during the outage.
The department also issued two travel advisories on Wednesday, asking anyone traveling on WestJet flight WS328 from Toronto to St. John’s, departing Nov. 1, to arrange for a COVID-19 test.
Passengers traveling on the same numbered flight on Nov. 6 and seated in rows one to four are also being asked to book a test as well.
Passengers who are symptomatic must self-isolate for up to 24 hours after their symptoms have resolved or they will receive a negative COVID-19 test result.
The next update from the province is expected on Friday.
