US stock futures ticked higher, sending Wall Street indices on track to record gains after Monday’s opening bell.
Futures on the S&P 500 were up 0.3% and futures linked to the Dow Jones Industrial Average gained 0.4%. Changes in stock futures do not necessarily predict movements after the markets open.
European stocks rose on Monday. The Stoxx Europe 600 was up 0.3% in morning trading. Consumer staples and health care posted gains, while the utilities and information technology sectors lost ground.

The British FTSE 100 added 0.3%. Other stock indices in Europe were also largely up, as France’s CAC 40 gained 0.2%, the UK’s FTSE 250 gained 0.2% and Germany’s DAX gained 0.1%.
The British pound fell 0.1% against the US dollar, with 1 pound buying $1.34, while the Swiss franc and the euro strengthened 0.1% against the US dollar.
In commodities, Brent oil rose 0.3% to $79.09 a barrel. Gold fell 0.3% to $1,845.50 a troy ounce.
The yield on German 10-year bunds fell to minus 0.341% and the yield on British 10-year government bonds was down to 0.889%. The 10-year US Treasury yield rose to 1.559%, from 1.535% on Friday. Revenues move inversely to prices.

In Asia, indices were mixed as Japan’s Nikkei gained 225 0.1% and China’s benchmark Shanghai Composite rose 0.6%, while Hong Kong’s Hang Seng lost 0.5%.
