Shares of Kotak Mahindra Bank (+2.82 percent) and HDFC Bank (+0.76 percent) ended the day as top winners in the pack.
On the other hand, Bandhan Bank (down 4.88 percent), IDFCBANK (down 2.59 percent), Punjab National Bank (down 2.34 percent), RBLBANK (down 2.23 percent), and AU Small Finance Bank (down 2.19 percent) ended up as the best losers of the day.
The Nifty Bank index closed 0.14 percent lower at 35976.45.
Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index ended 27.5 points at 17053.95, while the BSE Sensex rose 153.43 points at 57260.58.
Of the 50 stocks in the Nifty Index, 18 finished in the green and 32 in the red.
Shares of Vodafone Idea, Tata Power, YES Bank, PNB and SAIL were among the most traded shares on the NSE.
Shares of Universus Photo, Trejhara Solutions L, BEML, Raymond and Marshall Machines hit their new all-time high in 52 weeks in trading today, while Sapphire Foods India Ltd., Rajshree Polypack, Kesoram Inds.(PP), Quadpro ITeS Ltd. and RPP Infra Proj(PP) hit their new 52-week low.
