Among sectors, the Nifty Financial Services index fell 1.13 percent, weighted by Kotak Mahindra Bank, HDFC Life Insurance Company and SBI Life Insurance Company. The Nifty FMCG index also fell 1.04 percent, led by Varun Beverages. Nifty IT fell 0.86 percent on declines at Tech Mahindra and L&T Technology Services.
