Flair Airlines expands fleet by 30 aircraft by mid-2023

Edmonton-based Flair Airlines has announced that it will significantly expand its fleet.

To meet the company’s goal of having a fleet of 50 by 2025, the airlines announced that 30 new planes will take to the skies in less than two years.

Currently, the ultra-low-cost airline has 12 aircraft in service, 20 of the 30 of which have been announced Wednesday morning to be in service by next summer.

The airlines said it would lease 14 new Boeing 737 MAX 8 aircraft, with a capacity of 189 seats and 14 percent less fuel consumption and greenhouse gas emissions than its predecessor, the Boeing 737 models.

“We are on a mission to provide Canadians with low fares and flying a state-of-the-art Boeing 737 MAX fleet means we can do this at the lowest passenger mileage cost in Canada and the lowest CO2 emissions of any Canadian airline,” he said. Stephen Jones, CEO of Flair Airlines.

“With our significant fleet expansion, Canadian travelers can continue to take advantage of the dazzling Flair fares and enhanced service from existing and new airports in our network in Canada, the United States and Mexico.”

The airline offers services to 32 destinations in Canada and the US, with service to Mexico starting February 2022.
