JPMorgan and Citi staff start working remotely in 2022

December 30 (Reuters) – JPMorgan Chase & Co (JPM.N) has offered its staff the option to work from home for the first two weeks of 2022, with the caveat that all employees are expected to be back in the office by February at the latest. 1, according to a memo seen by Reuters.

The bank told employees it did not change the long-term plans of working in the office. “With the increase in leisure travel and meetings, we are offering more flexibility during the first two weeks of January to work from home at the discretion of your manager (if your position allows it),” the memo reads.

Citigroup (CN) has also asked its employees to work from home for the first weeks of 2022, a person familiar with the matter told Reuters.

US banks have been more proactive than other industries in encouraging employees to return to the office, but those plans have come under scrutiny due to the rapid spread of the Omicron coronavirus variant.

Earlier this month, JPMorgan instructed unvaccinated staff in Manhattan to work from home while easing mask requirements for vaccinated staff in Manhattan offices.
