Overview

The business manager is an integral role in the overall management of our accounts and finances at Cadent. The BM acts as a liaison between Account Services and the customer’s finance department to ensure that all of the customer’s financial obligations are met. The BM is a person who takes initiative, proactively leads and collaborates with his/her assigned Account Services teams. The person in this position is attentive, shows interest in the subject and can express ideas clearly and accurately. The BM creates clear goals, identifies and finds the resources needed to achieve them, and schedules tasks so that work is completed on time and meets expectations.

Responsibilities

• Manage customer monthly, quarterly and final reconciliations. Ensure reports are completed on time and accurately
• Participate in customer reconciliations and provide help and support with finances
• Ensure timely invoicing through coordination with financial analyst
• Review billing versus accrual and actual and analyze YTD billing / invoices and job status versus customer statements / reconciliation to customers
• Analyze timesheets, view income recognition and provide income accrual to Finance Manager in conjunction with Account Services
• Review the terms of the customer contract; ensure that Cadent complies with the contract at all times
• Review actual vs estimate monthly and work with Account Services to estimate or discuss estimate revision with client for any overages
• Assist Account Services with any fee and/or expense transfers as needed
• Provide all ad hoc assistance to Account Services

Job requirements

• BA/BS Degree in Accounting or Finance
• 2-3 years experience in healthcare communications/agency (Med Comms, PR or Advertising)
• Excellent communication and organizational skills
• Microsoft Office Suite Advanced Excel skills required (VLOOKUP, PIVOT tables, SUMIFs)
• Must be a self-starter with the ability to work independently or as part of a team
• Can effectively manage time, multitask and handle a lot of work in a fast-paced environment
