Report: Hawks are open for business, everyone except Trae Young and Clint Capela can be moved

The Hawks made their first move of the trading deadline season by dealing Cam reddish to the Knicks for a protected first round pick and Kevin Knox. This will no doubt be a polarizing deal among the fan base. Many saw Reddish as a player who could become an All-Star, but the reality is that his entire tenure with the Hawks was pretty awful. He may take the next step with the Knicks, but it clearly didn’t happen in Atlanta, and it became unlikely that the Hawks would re-sign him when his contract expired.

The question now is, what’s next for the Hawks? Will they use the trump cards they’ve gained in the Cam Reddish trade to turn them into something better in the hopes of improving the team and making a playoff run? Or do they focus entirely on the season, gather as many resources as possible, and look to the future? From now on, it looks like there’s something on the table. According to Jake Fischer of Bleacher Report, the Hawks are open for business, with everyone else available for trade bring young and Clint Capela.

I’m not sure what’s next for the Hawks, but Travis Schlenk isn’t messing around. His comments from a few weeks ago seem to carry quite some weight. He is extremely dissatisfied with how his team has endured the first half of the season and is looking at big changes. Whether those changes now or in the future are focused on winning, we’ll have to wait and see.
