NEPSE exceeds 2,900 points with 2.41pc rise on Sunday – The Himalayan Times – Nepal’s No.1 English daily newspaper

KATHMANDU, JANUARY 16

The Nepal Stock Exchange (NEPSE), the country’s only secondary market, passed 2,900 points on Sunday, rising 69 points or 2.41 percent on Sunday.

The benchmark index ended at 2,926.74 after opening at 2873.42.

On the first trading day of the week, Rs 9.676 billion worth of shares of 229 companies were exchanged in 101,589 trades, resulting in daily turnover of Rs 9.676 billion.

The sensitive index gained 11.81 points, or 2.22 percent, to 542.63 points. The float index rose 4.64 points, or 2.36 percent, to 201.62 points.

Today’s market saw gains across the board, with the Manufacturing and Processing index leading the way, up 5.62 percent.

The market cap was Rs 4,134 trillion at the end of the business day.
