BELLINGHAM, Wash. — Law enforcement personnel responded to the 1200 block of E Maple Street about 11:30am due to a report that a Bellingham business was reportedly the victim of an armed robbery today, February 5th.
According to unconfirmed emergency radio traffic, Bellingham Police and Whatcom County Sheriff’s Office personnel had been given a detailed description of a suspect who reportedly displayed a weapon and demanded money from the business.
Law enforcement established a temporary perimeter around the area while law enforcement worked to locate the suspect.
As of an hour later, law enforcement continued to investigate and were working to locate the suspect.

Click for more informationAbout 1:45pm, Western Washington University issued an advisory regarding the robbery.
The suspect, described as a white male in his thirties, wearing a gray hooded sweatshirt and a thin cloth mask, entered the store and pulled an automatic pistol with a matte gray finish. He tapped the gun onto the counter, demanded money, took an undisclosed amount of cash, then put the gun away and fled.
Bellingham police arrived and searched the area but were unable to locate the suspect.
