Ljubljana stock exchange indices close down in high turnover

LJUBLJANA (Slovenia), March 4 (SeeNews) – The two stock indices on the Ljubljana Stock Exchange (LJSE) dropped on Friday, as total daily turnover surged, bourse data showed.

The blue-chip SBITOP index fell 2.91% to 1,116.83 points on Friday. The SBITOP TR index, which also tracks dividend distribution, also lost 2.91%, ending at 1,312.68 points, LJSE data showed.

Pharmaceutical company Krka [LJE:KRKG] paced the decliners, with shares going down 5.43% to 87 euros. The drug maker generated the highest single turnover on the bourse – of 2.7 million euros ($2.9 million).

Other major losers included lender Nova Ljubljanska Banka [LJE:NLBR] and chemicals producer Cinkarna Celje [LJE:CICG]with shares falling 2.88% and 2.70%, respectively.

No member of the stock indices closed higher on Friday.

The bourse’s daily trading turnover came in at 5.1 million euros on Friday, higher compared with 3.8 million euros generated on Thursday.
