Indices: Stock market update: Nifty IT index advances 0.06%

Shares of Mindtree(up 1.71 per cent), Tata Consultancy(up 1.18 per cent), Coforge(up 1.02 per cent), HCL Technologies(up 0.71 per cent) and Larsen & Toubro Infotech(up 0.59 per cent) ended the day as top gainers in the pack.

On the other hand, Infosys(down 1.16 per cent), Wipro(down 1.07 per cent), Tech Mahindra(down 0.64 per cent) and L&T Technology(down 0.45 per cent) finished as the top losers of the day.

The Nifty IT index closed 0.06 per cent up at 36466.55.

Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index ended down 96.0 points at 17957.4, while the BSE Sensex stood down 435.24 points at 60176.5.

Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 27 ended in the green, while 23 closed in the red.

Shares of Vodafone Idea, Adani Power, Tata Power, YES Bank and JP Power were among the most traded shares on the NSE.

Shares of Swan Energy, Chennai Petro, Krishana Phoschem, Adani Power and TN Newsprint hit their fresh 52-week highs in today’s trade, while GMR Power and Urban Infra Ltd., Felix Industries, Debock Sales & Mktg, Vaxtex Cotfab and Shaily Engg Pla hit their fresh 52-week lows.
