Bosnian stock exchange indices close mixed in week ended Apr 8

SARAJEVO (Bosnia and Herzegovina), April 8 (SeeNews) – The share indices of Bosnia’s Sarajevo Stock Exchange (SASE) closed mixed on Friday, compared to their values ​​a week earlier, while the main index of Bosnia’s other bourse, the Banja Luka Stock Exchange (BLSE), closed higher, bourse data showed.

The 10-share benchmark SASX-10 index of the SASE ended Friday’s session at 928.08 points, up 0.36% compared with its closing value on April 1.

The broader SASX-30 index, which is composed of the 30 most liquid stocks on the SASE, went down 0.47% to 1,670.94 points.

The SASE index tracking investment funds, the BIFX, closed at 826.97 points, flat compared with April 1.

The Islamic stock index SASX-BBI, launched by SASE and Bosna Bank International (BBI), rose 0.24% to 10,975.51 points. The index tracks 25 companies.

SASE’s turnover came in at 2.1 million marka ($1.2 million/1.1 million euro) this trading week, significantly lower than 28.66 million marka last week. A total of 92,342 shares changed hands in 74 transactions.

Pharmaceuticals producer Bosnalijek [SAJ:BSNLR] generated the highest revenue on SASE this week, of 1.98 million marka. Its shares last traded on April 6, closing 6.45% lower at 21.98 marka.

The SASE is based in the Federation, one of two autonomous entities that form Bosnia and Herzegovina. The BLSE is based in the other entity, the Serb Republic.

The BLSE’s benchmark index, the BIRS, closed at 793.90 points on Friday, up 0.91% compared to its closing value recorded a week earlier.

The bourse’s total trading turnover jumped to 20.2 million marka this week from 2 million marka last week, as 118 transactions were carried out.

Telekom Srpske [BANJ:TLKM-R-A] generated the largest trading turnover, of 390,473 marka, on the BLSE’s official market this week. The company’s shares closed flat at 1.42 marka on Friday.
