Head of Business Development, Teams and Leagues in Remote – New York

The DraftKings Business Development team is growing rapidly and is searching for an experienced strategist to lead the Sports vertical across Business Development and cross-functionally at DraftKings. In joining the Business Development group, you will be responsible for managing relationships with professional sports teams and leagues (Red Sox, Yankees, NFL, MLB, NBA etc.) and associated deal flow across a wide variety of functions and team members. Our team works in a fast-paced, results-driven environment that will require you to balance multiple priorities, projects, and deadlines at once. The Head of Teams and Leagues will exercise impeccable judgment as a leader of the group and handle confidential matters with the utmost discretion and professionalism.

What you’ll do as the Head of Teams and Leagues:

• Help orchestrate and manage the team and league organization, managing day-to-day operations, critical timelines, statements of work, legal interactivity and communicating important tasks cross-functionally across the business

• Lead contract negotiations with external partners and prospects, while securing internal buy-in across an array of DraftKings constituents

• Embody critical thinking skills and be strategically minded in pursuing new partnerships, markets, and product opportunities throughout the DraftKings portfolio

• Relationship-manage all partnerships, understanding the personal, professional, and business details important to fostering successful long term relationships

• Effectively communicate internally and with representatives from the sports industry to facilitate long term relationships with important stakeholders

• Build and maintain strong working relationships with internal workstreams (marketing, content, VIP, etc) and external agencies and partners

• Manage a team of Business Development professionals helping to drive the next generation of DraftKings partnerships

• Respond to a wide variety of requests for information and executive action; communicating effectively in the face of change, conflict, and competing priorities

• Use rigorous metrics as the basis for decision making; including deal valuation, activation performance, and event recaps

What Skills You’ll Bring:

• 10+ years of experience working in a busy, high-growth, and fast-paced environment

• High EQ and relevant experience working in the sports, media, or technology industries

• Highly advanced analytical, organizational and process & project management skills

• Attention to detail and and a demonstrated ability to balance multiple competing priorities under strict timelines and across business lines

• Advanced organizational and communication skills; both written and verbal. Highly detail oriented with a proven ability to lead teams

• Experience working with all levels of management, and consulting with key business stakeholders to solicit feedback and gain buy-in for key initiatives

• Executive presence and demonstrated leadership qualifications

• Strong computer and technical skills; in particular Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint; Google Suite
