Sign up for the quarterly business newsletter – Business news in brief

The City of Santa Barbara will issue a quarterly business newsletter, Business news in brief, beginning January 2023. To sign up for the digital newsletter distributed via email, interested members of the public are encouraged to register at: santabarbaraca.gov/subscribe and click Business News in Brief.

The Newsletter is an effort to ensure that businesses, commercial property owners and non-profit organizations are informed of the available technical and financial support resources available to support their operations and investments and changes in business processes and policy issues.

More than ever, businesses need support and information as they navigate, restructure and transition from the impact of the pandemic and the ongoing changes in the economy. The municipality wants to help keep businesses owners aware of available programs and services that can support their activities inform about opportunities to get involved and provide input on local issues, said economic development manager Jason Harris.

The Business news in brief newsletter is an additional tool for business and another customer service improvement being implemented by the city. The finance department recently streamlined the business licensing process to allow for online payment, renewal, and application. The city continues to streamline the land development process to support business investment and economic prosperity in the community.
