Big day for investors as ITV PLC, Flutter PLC, London Stock Exchange Group PLC and Taylor Wimpey PLC all report on Thursday

ITV PLC (LSE:ITV) (ITV PLC (LSE:ITV))’s full-year results on Thursday follow the explosion in viewership in January, boosted by the new ITVX streaming platform and the FIFA World Cup.

There may also be an update from the company on the board’s review of the Studios business, which has apparently sparked some Hollywood-related interest.

ITV shares are up 5% over the past year, above where they were pre-pandemic, but they’ve been surpassed by Paddy Power owner Flutter PLC, which is up a third to now value the bookmaking group at a fat 24 billion.

Investors will probably be most interested in US-based FanDuel sports betting as more states liberalize gambling and what that could mean for further profits.

The final results come with investors eager to hear from the company about Microsoft’s recent investment, share overhang, and other market cliffhangers.

In macro news, EU inflation data will take center stage, following January’s CPI data showing core inflation at a record high of 5.3%.

“This is probably a bigger concern for the European Central Bank and any lack of progress will likely be the driving force going forward, not continued weakness in headline inflation,” analysts at CMC Markets said.

Also reports homebuilder Taylor Wimpey, which is about to follow rival Persimmon after it reported a drop in its pre-tax profits.

Investors may be hoping that as home prices continue to fall for a fifth consecutive month, the company can bring a glimmer of hope to the industry.

However, if results reflect Persimmon, the housing industry could slump further and a cut in dividends could occur for Taylor Wimpey shareholders.
