On Tuesday, November 17, 2020, the City Council approved the San Jacinto Small Business Emergency Assistance Grant Program (the “Program”) in the amount of $150,000. The program was designed to alleviate COVID-19 economic impact for small businesses within the City of San Jacinto. Companies had to meet certain criteria set by the City of San Jacinto, and both CARES Ace and the US Treasury Department. Each company had to demonstrate the need for financial support due to business interruptions due to the economic impact of COVID-19.
On Tuesday, January 19, 2021, the City Council approved the award for 11 eligible businesses to receive a total of $95,000 in COVID-19 economic impact funds. The city also directed staff to use any remaining funds in the program and allow additional companies to apply for round two.
On Tuesday, March 16, 2021, the City Council approved round two and awarded six (6) additional eligible businesses to receive a total of $52,500 in COVID-19 economic impact funds.
