Job description:
From our global headquarters in Chicago’s West Loop, the Senior Analyst of Business Insights & Strategy will help influence the future of the US affordability strategy by helping to optimize how McDonald’s delivers value to customers today and how it should evolve in the future.
The Business Insights & Strategy Senior Analyst will be leveraged as a key strategic thinking partner across the business as they provide insights and stories to make recommendations that lead to optimal long-term financial outcomes. After an initiative is closed, they will also provide the financial results of any national promotion or selected local initiatives. Other special projects may include providing financial analysis to support the US strategic growth plan and looking at industry and competitive trends to identify new opportunities. Because of the business importance of affordability, members of this team have an excellent opportunity to work in cross-functional teams responsible for developing national and local affordability strategies that are executed in US restaurants and enjoyed by customers. The ability and desire to analyze data and form insights, create a scenario plan, work cross-functionally, communicate effectively and move work forward without always having a view of the end product (“operating in the gray”) sets you able to excel in this role.
Main responsibilities:
- Analyze the performance of current and past affordability initiatives to recommend future strategies and initiatives
- Forecast national and local results for future initiatives and make recommendations to business partners and US franchisee committees
- Serve as a strategic internal advisor to drive improvements to the current affordability platform
- Drive improvements to the current reporting capabilities of the affordability team and lead the build-out of new reporting to support the business
- Thoughtful partnership and initiative management with cross-functional teams
- Perform ad hoc analyses
- Evaluation of actions and initiatives, both on test markets and on a national scale
- Business case development and business performance analysis
Qualifications:
- 3+ years of experience in consulting, business insights/research, strategy or analytic and data intensive environment is required
- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Finance is required
- Advanced Microsoft Office skills are required
- Prior exposure to basic programming and reporting software (e.g. SQL, Alteryx, R, SAS, Tableau) is highly preferred
