Business Licenses

The Duchesne County ordinance requires anyone doing business in the unincorporated areas of the county to obtain a business license. All license applicants must be submitted in writing to the Registry Office. The amount of such licenses will be paid upon receipt of the business license application.
No license granted or issued under the provision of Ordinance #08-263, Section 5, Chapter 4-F is transferable. The fees are to be paid at the time the business license application is handed over to the clerk’s office. Fees vary depending on the type of business.
Those selling agricultural products grown in Duchesne County are not required to purchase a business license.

Requirements

You can apply for a permit at the clerk’s office at 734 North Center in Duchesne, or call 738-1103.

The Business License Clerk and the Planning & Zoning Administration determine whether your type of business may be operated at the requested location. If you intend to do business from home, it is best to first consult with the Planning Office.

The average processing time for a new business is one week.

Your business license must be renewed before January 1 each year.
