As a Business Development professional, we count on you to bring your intuitive skills and extensive business expansion experience to ICF. In this role, you’ll drive the entire business development lifecycle, capturing activities to build, qualify and manage a large pipeline, shaping and winning more than $15 million in one-time rewards opportunities. The Business Development role is primarily focused on building on and establishing direct federal client relationships to promote the development of opportunities for ICF.

Main responsibilities:

The Business Development role is responsible for achieving pipeline, sales and business development efficiency results that meet or exceed the assigned priority accounts. The role includes individual sales contribution, pipeline qualification and sales performance, as well as cross-organizational development and cross-divisional contributions within an existing Business Development Team.

  • Focuses on expanding the pipeline and building customer relationships for customers within the federal government and government agency space, including but not limited to; DOL, CDC, NIH, FDIC, USPS, DOJ, FAA, ACF ORR, SLED, and social service programs include but are not limited to; Child welfare, Early childhood education.

  • Identifies, develops and implements short- and long-term business strategies that provide the company with the opportunity to generate revenue.

  • Nurture and nurture customer relationships that align with market growth and business development objectives.

  • Collaborate with other company resources to achieve successful execution of growth strategies.

  • Demonstrated ability to cross-sell capabilities and solutions to neighboring markets

  • Develops and supports strategic partnerships with industry leaders, driving innovation and new business opportunities.

Basic qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree

  • 2+ years of business development experience in the federal civilian market, including deep expertise and federal government experience with government agency knowledge

  • 3+ years of experience shaping requirements and developing acquisition strategies for opportunity finding, business development, and capturing effort on opportunities with values ​​> $15 million.

Professional skills:

  • Intermediate business development skills with the ability to easily work in many different organizations, expand within one organization and support multiple complex projects simultaneously.

  • Experience building, executing customer call plans, developing account plans and shaping strategies in a collaborative market team environment.

  • knowledge and experience with SLED

  • Experience using sourcing tools such as GovWin, DACIS, Bloomberg, Fed Scoop, but also not limited.

  • Expertise in developing opportunities for program growth and actively proposing and pursuing appropriate improvements and changes.

  • Exemplary presentation and communication skills, including writing white papers, responding to RFIs and other presentation materials.

  • Ability to lead/support business intelligence and market analysis, and lead consortium/teaming efforts while supporting various projects at the same time.

  • Demonstrate success in developing and presenting complex ideas to executive audiences and effectively articulating customer positions, status and strategies to senior management in a clear, concise and decisive manner.

  • Understands the full cycle of business development and deal qualification.

  • Proficiency in MS Office applications and CRM tools (Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, Excel, TEAMS and Microsoft Dynamics).

Pay Range – There are multiple factors that are considered in determining the final pay for a position, including but not limited to relevant work experience, skills, certifications, and competencies consistent with the specified role, geographic location, education, and certifications, as well as contract terms related to employment categories specific to the position. The salary range for this position is:

$94,247.00 – $160,220.00
