WESTERN

Westerly Senior Center is located at 39 State St., Westerly. The center’s opening hours are Mon. to Fri, 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Staff are available, Monday through Friday, at 401-596-2404. Otherwise, messages can be left on Lucy’s voicemail.

Meal service for seniors 60 and older: Call Edie at 401-596-7216 for Thursday to order a takeout lunch, pick up at the center by entering the center through the parking lot door. A $3 donation is requested.

Transportation: Westerly seniors can call 401-596-7216 for transportation on Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday to a grocery store or bank. The ride must be requested the day before so that a timetable can be set for the bus driver. To make medical appointments, call 855-330-9131 at least 48 hours in advance.

Social Services: Nichole, the center’s community information specialist, is available to address many concerns and makes appointments on a limited basis. Call the central office at 401-596-2404 to leave a message and she will call you back.

Postal Services: Since the center is a postal unit, it still sells stamps and accepts mail, which is collected in the morning and afternoon. It does not have the ability to process packets.

PAWCATUCK

Pawcatuck Community Center, Chase St. 27, Pawcatuck.

Pawcatuck Senior Center is now open on a limited basis. TVCCA Meals on Wheels continues to be delivered from the Pawcatuck Neighborhood Center. The Senior Transportation Program provides free door-to-door transportation Monday through Friday from 8:30 AM to 4:00 PM for residents of Stonington, Westerly, and North Stonington who are 55 years of age or older. Program uses a bus with wheelchair accessible elevator. Call 860-5993285, extension 108, to schedule a ride.

Heating and utility assistance, food supplies and daily-use items are available free of charge, Monday to Friday, 10am to 3pm

CHARLESTOWN

Charlestown Senior/Community Center, Country Trail, Ninigret Park, 401-364-9955. The center’s hours of operation are Monday through Thursday, 8:30am to 4:00pm; Friday 8:30 am to 1:30 pm

Staff are on site to provide telephone support to seniors in the community who have questions, concerns, or are looking for an update.

The center offers packed lunches for pick-up Monday through Friday, as well as frozen meals for pick-up or delivery. For more information or to order, call 401-364-6998.

Activities for the week include:

Monday: Yoga, 8:30 am; tai chi, 9:45 a.m.; Zumba, 5:30 p.m.

Tuesday: Yoga, 8.30am; painting with peers, 10 o’clock

Wednesday: Walking group, 9:00 am; first grade, 10 a.m.; bridge, 1:00 p.m.

Thursday: Yoga, 8:30 am; tai chi, 11 a.m.; scrabble, 1:15 p.m.; Zumba, 5:30 p.m.

Friday: Walking group, 9:00 a.m.
