Tehran’s shares started the trading week on a high note on Saturday amid demand for shares from commodity and export-oriented companies.
Tehran Stock Exchange’s benchmark, TEDPIX, gained 14,310 points and climbed 1.25% to end trading at 1,161,985.
This as the TSE’s equal-weighted index closed slightly above the flatline, pointing to the lukewarm performance of penny stocks.
Price increases in petrochemicals, refineries, banking, mineral and metals stocks propelled the TSE-30 Index by almost 1.7%. The index tracks the performance of the 30 largest publicly traded companies in terms of market capitalization.
