Investigators seized 554 individual Delta 8 THC presumptive edibles, 616 individual Delta 8 THC non-edible products, and approximately $30,000 in cash
Employees at a local vape shop are being sued after researchers said their THC edibles exceeded the legal limit.
Authorities from the Coweta County Crime Suppression Unit said they were tipped off that the Tobacco & Vapor at 1053 Highway 34 E. was selling suspected THC in the store.
A researcher bought two packs of Flying Monkey Delta 8 Gummies. The gummies were tested and found to exceed the legal limit of THC according to Inv. Toby Nix of the Coweta County Sheriff’s Office.
The legal THC limit in Georgia is 0.3 percent.
A search warrant for the company was obtained, and investigators seized 554 individual Delta 8 THC suspected edibles, 616 individual Delta 8 THC non-edible products and about $30,000 in cash, Nix said.
Gamal Al Zookari, 19, was charged with selling and possessing Schedule 1 narcotics with intent to distribute them. Preston Coolahan, 22, was charged with participating in a crime of selling and possessing Schedule 1 narcotics with intent to disperse.
