Albany gas prices continue to rise

ALBANI, NY (NEWS10Albany gas prices are up 2.4 cents a gallon in the past week, averaging $3.10/g Monday, according to GasBuddy’s daily survey of 546 stations in Albany. Gas prices in Albany are 7.2 cents per gallon higher than a month ago and 86.1 cents per gallon higher than a year ago.

According to GasBuddy, the cheapest station in Albany costs $2.85/g, while the most expensive is $3.23/g.

The national average is also up 2.5 cents per gallon in the past week and is 4.7 cents per gallon higher than a month ago.

“With the continued rise in oil, fueled by continued strong global demand and production only slow to respond, gasoline prices had no choice but to follow the national average last week and hit new highs for 2021,” said Patrick De Haan, chief of petroleum analysis for GasBuddy. . “As we approach July 4, it seems that the only way forward is for gas prices to continue to rise, as the insatiable demand for American gasoline continues to be the catalyst for the price hike. With the hurricane season soon to reach its peak, we have enough catalysts for a price hike, and few that can contain the situation.
