DUBLIN, July 2 (Reuters) – Ryanair (RYA.I) is seeing a “massive increase” in air traffic across Europe, excluding Ireland and parts of the UK market, Group Chief Executive Michael O’Leary said Friday.
Ryanair flew 5.3 million passengers in June, compared to just 400,000 in the same month a year ago when the sector was shut down, but well below the 14.2 million flown in June 2019. O’Leary said he expected to carry more than 8 million passengers in June 2019. July with a load factor of about 75%.
“Air traffic recovery across Europe has increased tremendously. I think Europe, excluding Ireland, will recover to 75-80% of normal traffic volumes in July, August and September,” O’Leary told Irish radio station Newstalk.
